Share The City You Know | 'Discover Our City'

Discover my city. Our city. Perth city.

I'm Radheya Jegatheva, a 16 year old student and this is my submission for the 'Share the City you Know' competition hosted by Channel 9 and the City of Perth. I spent countless hours over a few weeks gathering footage to use in this video to show the places and things that I love about Perth City, both new and old.
I chose a theme of 'DISCOVER' throughout the video as I felt that it fit the brief nicely and showed how I got to know, as well as how others could also get to know the treasures of Perth. I also feel that 'discover' has connotations of wonder and awe, and encourages everyone to want to take this journey of discovery.

Perth City is a wonderland full of things ready to be discovered. From its diverse cultures to its paradisiac views, there's something new to discover around every corner. In this video, I'm showing what I discovered - Perth's icons, artistry, relaxation and so much more.

Post production/editing took even longer, from specifically tuning the sound of a bell to fit with the music to tweaking and colour grading each and every shot. I also had to create a neon effect with the typography during the night scenes. All footage was shot with an iPhone 6, and post-production/editing was done in Adobe After Effects.

The process for choosing my music took a while. I wanted to choose music that was vibrant and energetic, something that would engage viewers and also reflect the lively atmosphere of Perth City.
Music used: "Colossus Uplifting Dance" purchased from BlueFoxMusic. I have licensed the music from Lester Woodward.
